Biofuel: The Mahindra Group

The Mahindra Group (http://www.mahindra.com/index.asp) is a US $4 billion conglomerate and a leading manufacturer of multi-utility vehicles. The Mumbai, India-based company has launched two biodiesel utility vehicles, the Scorpio and Bolero DI.

The Scorpio will be 100% biodiesel fuel (B100) biodiesel engines that the company states will not cost more than the conventional engines it currently builds.  Fuel efficiency is proposed to go up 10%. The Scorpio is the first Asian vehicle in its class to run on B100.

This release is experimental, as Mahindra observes their durability, reliability, and overall performance.
