Solar Wine

Wine made with solar power may be the same as wine made with fossil fuel power, but it will definitely taste better to the green consumer. Wineries of varying sizes are converting to solar power. This not only saves them money in the form of operating costs, but also makes them money via the rewards of marketing their sustainability.

Many of the wineries that make the effort to go solar also incorporate other sustainable technologies into their operations, such as the elimination of pesticides, herbicides, and chemical-based fertilizers, and producing wine organically.

Some wineries making the jump to sun power include Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards, Domaine Carneros, Fetzer Vineyards, Grgich Hills Cellar, Hagafen Cellars, Honig Winery, Kent Rasmussen Winery, Mount Eden Vineyards, Peju Province Winery and Vino Noceto.

If you’re a wine buff or are someone that enjoys a good bottle of wine (like me), check them out online or hit them on your next wine tour.
